We put the canoe in the water just after the car parks on Riverside Walk and visited a few pubs on the paddle down to Walton:
The Bells of Ouzeley (Old Windsor)
The Swan Hotel (Staines)
The Kingfisher (Chertsey)
The Thames Court (Shepperton)
Paddling around the perimeter of Windsor Castle there were lots of signs warning us of dire consequences if we went ashore, so we didn’t!
Just after leaving Windsor it started raining heavily, so we took shelter under Albert Bridge until it had cleared up
We passed alongside a very busy Runnymede Pleasure Ground before reaching Staines, Chertsey, Shepperton and finally Walton
Ideally we would have carried on to Kingston, but it was dark and getting late by this stage, so we got out beside The Swan pub in Walton and took a taxi home
