Number of Locks: 4
Time Taken: 1 day
We took the train to Windsor & Eton Riverside station and then a taxi
to the The Ferry pub at Cookham
We started the day with some drinks at the pub, which was lovely (especially on a sunny work day!)
before putting in using the adjacent slipway
A great lunch stop was at Cliveden House. We left our canoe on the riverbank in the shade of the boat house and wandered up the hill for a walk round the gardens
There was a very heavy downpour in the afternoon, fortunately we were just approaching Maidenhead Bridge, so sheltered under that - there was a ledge which was perfect for us to perch on!

Making our way through Boveney Lock |
As we approached Windsor the towers and turrets of Windsor Castle came into view which meant we had almost finished our trip (this leg was actually the last part of our whole trip, as we didn't do the legs in order).
Windsor Castle from Eton footbridge |
We got out at Riverside Walk and after packing the canoe away we crossed the footbridge to Eton and went for well deserved celebratory food and drinks before taking the train home from Windsor & Eton Riverside station
